Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Berkeley will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in California usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–3 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Berkeley is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Berkeley follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I’m so glad I finally did. The food was very fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced for the quality. The braised lamb sandwich had soft flatbread, crunchy herbs and vegetables, a tangy sauce, and perfectly tender lamb. The service was friendly, warm, and the food came out quickly. Fava is a lovely lunch spot and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant lunch in North Berkeley.

Incredibly fresh and delicious food. The spicy chicken with herbs in soft, chewy flat bread is probably one of the best "sandwiches" I have ever had. The ginger tea was like nothing I have ever had, and excellent. Healthy, affordable, and fun.

Wonderful healthy vibrant food that is well presented…especially for takeout. 🩷. The person that took my order was super friendly and efficient. The food came out quickly! Loved the lemony green juice and organic chicken. The tahini cookies are giant and tasty but would be slightly better with a bit more salt in the dough or a bit of flake salt on the top. Also tasted my friend’s soup, and it was super yummy 😋 too! Note, this is a takeaway place with a few outdoor tables. Other than wanting more salt in my cookie, I loved everything.

Super yummy and fresh!!! I loved the fresh homemade bread/pita. The falafel was flavorful and delicious. Everything was very herb forward. The cookie was very yummy as well! I would probably pay 15% more to have 15% more food, but I think basically I just learned that I need a side next time I come here. They seem to do a lot of take out. The only downside for me was that dining there didn't include any real dishes. I would have preferred this on like an enamel plate or bowl or something with a parchment paper.

This is amazing food. The spicy chicken sandwich and the falafel sandwich were 10/10 with the home made pita wrap, fresh herbs, and yogurt it’s impossible to go wrong. Also tried the pumpkin pudding and wow wow wow, if you like pumpkin make sure to give it a try. Pictured is the spicy chicken sandwich that is mostly gone, because it was so good I almost forgot to snap a pic 😅
